with a whirlpool bath, separate stall shower. The only other full bath is between the other bedrooms and is small (5' x 7'). In my renovation, I was originally going to just pull off the wallpaper, replace the faucets, etc. However pulling up wallpaper revealed mold, so I ripped out all (well, most of) the drywall to greenboard. The 1980's vinyl shower/tub assembly was beige and crappy, so I decided to pull that out (demo is fun). My question is this - I can get a shower basin and turn it into a shower only, but my girlfriend says that this will make it a 3/4 bath and hurt resale. It's essentially the "kids" bath (I have no kids). The only other option is going back to that crappy vinyl/fiberglass crap that I just yanked out? Am I stuck?
Hi Steve
I'll make it 3 votes for the "kid's bathtub" option (with shower-over-tub)!!!
Don't waste remodel money, and not put it in.
Good luck...

Hello, a bath tub w/shower head on the wall. Homes with more than one bedroom definitely need the 'guest/hall' bathroom with a tub! You should be able to get a 4/12 foot tub if nothing else. Hope the remodel goes well!
For a "kids bath" you want a bathtub. Most families with small kids need a tub for bath-time. A new shower/tub may suffice; a real tub with some tasteful tile work would be optimal.
Good luck!
