That's an excellent question. Many builders adopt many "green" practices, but it may be difficult to determine which builder is doing the best, or most comprehensive job at it.
There is a certification available for builders who make a concerted effort to understand and implement green practices. Commonly referred to as LEED-certified, you can get more details at http://www.usgbc.org. So, when you interview builders (or have a good buyer's agent that understands these things), a good question to ask them is if they are "LEED certified".
I am confident Clarksville offers LEED builders, but I am a bit challenged, geographically, to know the local builder community there. If you like, contact me and I can, in-turn, interview local Realtors for you to help ensure you are getting one that can offer the most valuable assistance. Good luck!
