I have been a realtor in the Redding area for the past 37 years. There has been little or no new construction in Redding, other than custom building, over the past several years because of the drop in prices and the competition with short sales and foreclosures. Currently resales are ranging on or about $170-$200/sq.ft. If considering new construction, location would be key to ensure that you're not overbuilding for the area.
