how much time to you have to move when given an eviction notice. i am on a month to month lease.
Hi Mary,
Your local goverment has the exact answer for you. many States vary, some are pro landlord and some are pro tenant. Contact your local police or court hose for exact information.
Good Luck.
Yes..I agree. I handled collections and evictions for a large apartment community for many years. Get out within 30 days and try to make any attempts to settle your bill with your landlord. Sufficient pay arrangements might keep from further legal fees. BUT keep up payments!! Normally once you go to court for non-payment (if this is your situation) the attorneys will re check to see if you have made payment to the landlord within a couple weeks ..and if not an eviciton thu a constible will follow shortly. You will not be able to get your things out..they literally evict you right then and there and arrangements to get you items will have to be made. Be honest with your landlord..maybe you can work a suitable pay arrangement and forgo any further action. Good luck to you.
as a former landlord myself, once the evicition notice is served, it would be with in 30 to 60 days. I have seen judges allow under certain circumstances give 90 days. If it's because of non payment of rent, I woul suggest to avoid any long term adverse credit reporting. Try to work it out with your landlord and move out quickly.
