Just came back from visiting the Realeigh/Durham area and even looked at new construction single family homes in Knightdale and I just want to ask folks who have relocated from Northern NJ to Knightdale, NC or surrounding areas the pros and cons from moving.

Hello Peter,
I am a Real Estate Broker here in Knightdale, NC, I moved here ten years ago from Ohio and love it. The weather is a lot nicer in the winter time. It usually only snows once every couple of years, then it is 70 degrees a week later. We just got snow on Monday, and this Friday it is suppose to reach 70!!! You are a few hours from the beach and the mountains, whichever you prefer. There is so much to do here, if you have children there are a lot of parks, trails, etc to go to and enjoy. We moved straight to Knightdale, it is more affordable, you can buy a decent size home on a nice lot size at a reasonable price. When I moved here 540, and the 64 bypass did not exist. Neither did all of the shopping centers you probably saw while visiting! It has done nothing but improved. Any questions on this area feel free to email me. Thank you.

Hello Peter, I moved to the Knightdale area 2007, I loved my location, I am near main hwy 540, and 264 less than 15 minutes from Raleigh, NC. House market is very reasonable, my advice to you before you moved to NC check into job market., if you need employment.

Hello Peter,
Knightsdale area is west of where we live in New Bern, but the for the most part, many things are the same. We moved from New Jersey to New Bern, NCV14 years ago. It was the best move we ever made. The kids entered & finished high school here with no problems like their old friends in Jersey had. The weather here is substantially nicer. People are friendlier, cost of living is less, taxes are less. College tuition for residents of NC is substantially less too. This area is experiencing continued growth, so business is good. And the best part? Our family is happy and comfortable. Wish we would have moved earlier. Feel free to contact me anytime if you'd like to discuss our relocation experience. rickthompson1@suddenlink.net

Hi Peter,
I moved to the Raleigh area in 1997, i'm originally from Long Island, NY. I loved the friendly people and nicer climate, although the winters here feel pretty cold to me now. The workforce in Raleigh and Charlotte and the surounding areas are still very strong in comparison to the rest of the country. Cost of living is cheaper, insurance is one third of what I used to pay. I can't really say anything bad about the choice to move here. I hope this helps with your decision.
