Where would be a good place to buy land to build a log cabin in southern missouri?

We are thinking around 5 to 10 acres with a nice view. Rural but not too far from town or neighbors.

There is a lot of good places around Table Rock Lake, if that is the area you are looking for, we have acreage that size in the 3 to 10 thousand dollars per acre range depending upon usability and lake proximity. Plenty of woods so you could build it from native logs if that is your goal or we have the famous Amish log home builders around here that are excellent.

I agree with Jamie, decide what else you want to be around, then narrow your search area accordingly. Do you like to fish, hunt, go antiquing, or ?? How far is too far from town or neighbors? Do you want to be close enough to a big city to go to the museums and zoo and big town shopping, or do you just want a grocery store and drugstore? There are a lot of variables that you need to answer for us, before we can help you find the right place.

Check out Missouri Life Magazine (you can find them on line at http://www.missourilife.com/home.html for great information on different small towns and areas of interest throughout the state.

That all depends on what size town you want to be near, price range, and what recreational activities you enjoy.
