University park is a community within itself. consisting of homes, villas, townehomes, and condo, has a great semi-private golf course, a fantastic clubhouse with a restaurant, tennis, community pool and lots of activities if you chose to be a part of it. Price ranges from 170,000 to multimillion dooar homes. all this and it is gated. you are close to downtown Sarasota or the highway.
Just sold a place in there to clients who moved there from Longboat and love it

University Park is great! I just sold a home there last week. UP consists of many different neighborhoods and price ranges.. It's gated and a very upscale feel yet homey at the same time. Good schools and a great clubhouse and golfing. It is close to the airport (5-10 min). 20 minutes to Lido Beach. Close to shopping and one of the fastest growing areas of Sarasota. I actually live 2 minutes away and recommend it. So do my buyers who actually decided to buy a lot and build new. If you have any questions I would be happy to help you.

Hi Sue - I think I know you :)
University Park is located up north of University Parkway, so will be a bit further to beaches - your closest Sarasota beach will be Lido Key, west of Fruitville Road. UPCC is a bit northwest of the Meadows, but you will find the fees for membership in the club to be much higher.
Have a great day - Regina
Terri is right, University Park is a great community. The common areas are beautifully-maintained, and the community has a very "upscale" appearance. If you study the property listings you will see a wide range of prices. The high-end homes are beautiful and are built by some of the area's best home builders, and the "entry level" homes are also very nice. The individual neighborhoods are laid out very well, and most, if not all, homes have a view of water, golf course or preserve. Curb appeal is very important throughout the community.
You should know that if you purchase a home or a villa in University Park, you will be required to be a member of University Park Country Club. I think that mandatory membership is a good thing, because it supports the club while many other country clubs are struggling to survive. The family social membership is inexpensive at $520 per year with a $700 restaurant minimum, and a membership for a single person is just half of those numbers. There is no initiation fee for this membership.
As I write this, there are currently 68 homes on the market in University Park. This gives you a good selection of beautiful homes, and might give you an opportunity to negotiate a great deal. I would be happy to show the community to you at your convenience. In the meantime, here is a link to the web site for the country club, in case you haven't seen it : http://www.universitypark-fl.com/Club/Scripts/Home/home.asp
Please call me or send an email if you have further questions.

Hi Sue,
University Park is a fabulous golf community. It is close to I-75 and the airport. University Park has 67 homes for sale and I have included a link below to all of them. Each listing will give you the subdivison they are located in and what that includes. There are several great subdivisons within University Park. There is a community pool and clubhouse with a great restaurant. I have several friends who live there and they love it. You can purchase a great home for a great price right now.
