Hi Linda.
Thanks for ranking my answer highly. I appreciate it. And.. I appreciate your interest in Evergreen. We are a unique area, unlike anything else in Colorado or in the nation. We have a charming Main Street, lots of services and shopping, a symphony, a world-class theatre and music/art festivals every weekend - even in the fall and winter. And, we have thousands of acres of open space all around us.

Yes, there are jobs. Even in a slumping economy, there are a number of active businesses in the area. I'm an active member of the Chamber of Commerce of Evergreen. Give me a call or call them directly and use my name (Margaret Stapleton). They'll even give you some leads for a job. http://www.EvergreenChamber.org.

Call me. I can help... 303-618-1925.

Evergreen Colorado enjoys a mild climate. Even though it is in the mountains and much higher than Denver, Evergreen is seldom buried in snow. Summer time the climate is cooler, which is good. Since Colorado is sunny more often than not, Evergreen enjoys lots of sunshine, which considering the view in Evergreen is a nice thing!

The town is small so finding a job maybe more challenging than a larger locale. But then Evergreen is a short commute to Denver, so limiting your options by staying only in Evergreen is totally up to you. Many people feel the short commute is a small price to pay to be able to live in a beautiful mountain community like Evergreen.

I've lived in Evergreen since 1978. It 's Colorado, it does snow! This time of year is unpredictable. Last week as had nearly a foot of snow over 3 days, but in between snow falls, the sun pops out and we enjoy 60-70 degree weather. We call it Springtime in the Rockies. Be prepared for anything. There are job opportunities here. I would suggest picking up a copy of The Canyon Courier for more info about jobs. If you from out of state, let me know how to get a copy of this weekly publication. The weather is beautiful-- Colorado Living. As for job opportunities-- many people commute to Denver Metro and surrounding areas. Feel free to visit the Evergreen Chamber of Commerce online for additional information. If you would like a Relocation Packet sent to you-- you can request one at FindingTheHome.com. All the best.

I've lived in Evergreen since 1979. The weather is great. Sometimes, better than Denver because we are frequently influenced by a different weather pattern. The town is surrounded by hundreds of acres of open space, perfect for hiking, biking, yet very close to skiing, water sports, and offers a real community of theatre, symphony, shopping and people watching. we even have our own winery! Yes, there are job opportunities too. As Denver grows, Evergreen, as a bedroom community to the west, offers more and more real local jobs.

You have received great answers to your question. But, because you may not want to commute that long there are other locations between Evergreen and Denver that capture the mountain life style yet are closer to Denver. I live in Genesee and know the area. There are some values to be had and I can as a buyer agent, help you discover the property you would like. Give me a call at 303-425-1569 and we can discuss your needs and concerns.

hey linda -

evergreen is at ~8,200 feet of elevation (3,000 more than Denver). the summers are warm (low 80s) with brief afternoon thunderstorms and the winters can be cold and snowy. EG gets more snow than Denver because it sits higher up in the front range.

As for jobs, it really depends on what you're looking for. I wouldn't expect to find many jobs on the upper end of the pay range - most of those are in Denver (about a 35-50 minute drive depending on where in Evergreen you are). If you're looking for something that pays the bills there are likely quite a few. Check out this page and see if there's something that suits you.

Good luck.
