Lake Havasu City is a bit unusual. We have new homes mixed with old homes. With the building boom we had in 2006 every area, North, Central, and South, has both types of homes. In all areas there are rental properties. There are a few low income rental areas scattered about the city. We have a lot of seasonal residents, both winter and summer. Even our gated communities have rentals. The best thing is to ask a REALTOR to check out neighborhoods for you. Check out http://www.nspteam.net/ for a sampling.

Here in Bullhead City which 80 miles north of your reference to Lake Havasu may be an option. We have upscale communities with views of the Colorado River, Lake Mohave, Casinos and Mountains. Homes in this area begin in the $200,000 range and upwards over a million. You will have the option of gated communties with HOA's or comunities without. These quiet communities are worth a look. Thanks for asking
