Charlotte County is located on the west coast of Florida between Fort Myers and Sarasota and is the most affordable coastal community in Southwest Florida to buy or build your dream home in a tropical paradise. I believe that Genevieve has got it right that Punt Gorda is the best place to live. I personally prefer Punta Gorda Isles with it's quick access to Charlotte Harbor via a beautiful and well maintained deep water canal system. There is also the Fishermens Village, the Isles Yacht Club, St. Andrews Golf Course, and the wonderful homes and shops in the downtown historic district.
