These are all great neighborhoods w/in a few miles of each other. I live in between The Heathers & Oakcroft in Windrow Estates & love it! I also just sold a house in Oakcroft. All of them have HOA dues save The Heathers.

Brightmoor & Thornblade are on the west side of downtown Matthews. Brightmoor was built from 1987-1994 mostly with wood siding, 2stories & selling with very little updates. Whereas Thornblade was built from 1997-2001, mostly brick 2 stories & most are selling with upgrades (although the price reflects). The schools are Matthews Elementary, Crestdale Middle & Butler High.

The Heathers, Windrow & Oakcroft are all next to each other. The Heathers was built from 1987-1995 with smaller lots. Windrow is the only one with a clubhouse, lake & swimming pool. It was built from 1973-1984 with a couple of newer homes in the back. Oakcroft is the smallest community, but close. It was built from 1990-2000. The schools are Bain elementary, Mint Hill Middle & Butler high.
I would love to show you around these fabulous areas if you wish.

Great neighborhoods, if you prefer larger properties Oakcroft has the hard to find larger properties. Brightmoor, The Heathers and Thornblade have properties from approximately 1/3 to 1/2 acres. Still substantial in this area, were new construction has homes much closer. At the moment there is a little traffic dilema for Brightmoor and Thornblade, but if you don't have to be in that 7 to 8 o'clock commute it get's easier.
Shopping, restaurants and entertainment are very close by, but do not interfere with any of the neighborhoods. Brightmoor is the largest of the sub-division with about 600 Homes and Oakcroft the smallest with approximately 100 Homes. Please let me know if you have other questions, I'll delighted to work with you or send you additional info.

Good morning,
These Matthews neighborhoods were built in the mid-1980s to the 1990s and all are very nice places to live. Brightmoor is the only neighborhood of the three that has a neighborhood swim club and therefore, monthly HOA fees. The other three neighborhoods either have no organized HOA or very minor annual fees with no neighborhood amenities. The Heathers and Oakcroft are located on the north side of Matthews and Brightmoor and Thornblade on the south side of Matthews. The Heathers and Oakcroft would have somewhat easier access to I-485, if that is important. Eventually an interchange with I-485 will be built fairly close to the other two neighborhoods, improving access. Traffic is a little heavier around Brightmoor and Thornblade because there is more commercial development nearby. The Siskey YMCA, a huge facility with many programs for families is within a couple of miles of Brightmoor and Thornblade.

Do not hesitate to contact me with more questions about Matthews neighborhoods or visit the Matthews page at CarolinaSmallTownLiving.com.
Regards,
Carol
