Thank you. I appreciate the honest appraisal. I'm a little concerned about how Butler's reorganization in 2010 may impact -- not sure what it means. We're now focusing on schools in the Providence catchment area and looking at Union County.
Between the two neighborhoods, Annecy is looking a bit "neglected" with so many of the homes needing exterior maintenance. As someone mentioned, the siding does require painting and the quality feel of the neighborhood has deteriorated a bit over the years. As for Southwoods, still a great Matthews neighborhood.
Annecy was built between 1988-1995 with few upgrades when resale. The schools are Crown Point Elem, Mint Hill Middle & Butler High. It is behind the Windsor Square shopping area right off HWY 74. You can either look at it as convenient or annoying as this is where traffic bottlenecks frequently.
Southwoods was built between 1990-2000, mostly brick & vinyl but more upscale in price. It has the same schools, some with updates. It's easiest to get to from the Idlewild Rd. side, which has less traffic.
Annecy and Southwoods are both on the northern end of Matthews. Annecy is located behind the Windsor Square Shopping Center. Southwoods is a little closer to Mint Hill. Annecy homes are a little older than Southwoods. They have hardboard siding exteriors which require painting. Most homes in Southwoods have vinyl exteriors.
