We moved from Santa Monica to Desert Hot Springs under the false intention that my momm was going to sell us

the house. That never happened. She didn't raise the rent which was the goiong market rate for DHS (so much for relatives) and just recently she told us she is going to raise the rent just a little above 42%. The house is old, needs plumbing work, electrical work, anything you can think of but we planned to do these things once we bought the house. She has started escrow 3 times and then backed out every time - one time 2 days before the closing. Can she raise the rent 42% in one year? To make things even more unbearable the central air doesn't work so when the temps raise into the 120's we're in tough luck. She says we can fix it and the whole system needs to be replaced for at least $8,000. That includes the forced heating system. Water and mold covers the den, there are illegal window theft bars on the windows, yada yada. We had planned to take care of all these once we got the loan. We sent her a letter of things that were illegal and needed to be fixed; she says tough.

This is Patti Fleming. The one who "supposedly" wrote the above letter. First of all, I did not write that letter about moving from Santa Monica to Desert Hot Springs. I don't talk like that, I don't write like that, and I definitely make sure that my grammar and spelling is correct. I know who is doing this and, unfortunately, anyone who reads the answers of "No Moochers," from Desert Hot Springs, no less, as well as from "Carrie" will be reading answers given by two people that I know who have been trying their best to sour my reputation and to divide the relationship I have with my mother for their own gain. I spoke with Jessica, who answered this ridiculous question about my mother and some issues that had come up, and Jessica tells me that the company who is providing this information is actually ripping off agents of real estate companies for thousands of dollars. She told me that she was in the process of getting together with other agents to seek the State's help in getting their money back. The two people in question happen to live up North, interestingly enough where the company who wrote this question is located. Interestingly enough, these two people are now down here in Desert Hot Springs to make more trouble for me and my family and create a wedge between myself and my mother. Do not believe the "We moved from Santa Monica...." story. I never wrote it, period. Don't waste your time answering it, either positive or negative. It's a sick ploy by two sick individuals who like to create hurricanes in peoples' lives and then leave the debris behind with a smile on their face. Now answer that, No Moocher (who won't even give their name) in Desert Hot Springs. No, better yet, why don't you just go home and leave everyone alone. And, by the way, how do you know if I'm working or not? Patti Fleming

Hi Patti,

Wow, it sounds like you have had some real set backs in your move. I would need to see your rental agreement, or lease agreement to assist you better. I live and work in Desert Hot Springs and have been a Realtor here for 11 years. I am sure that I would have the expertise to assit you. Just give me a call and if you were buying this home that needs lots of work I would really suggest looking at other properties. I have closed several in the last month that have been priced unbelievably low and they were newer homes built 2000 or newer. Just call me and we can see what is up.

Hope things are better soon.

There are many homes in DHS in foreclosure and for sale at bargain rates compared to two years ago that can be had for a song. Have you shopped around?
