So, my daughter's getting married

... in an hour and a half. I'm sitting in the den, with my laptop. And there's estrogen heaven going on in the rest of the house... hair, makeup, pantyhose, nailpolish. I'm reflecting on the little girl, with the applecheeks, and the big hair, who's about to walk down the aisle, pretty much to the tune of the last 18 homes that I've sold.

We like "the boy", and that makes it easier, but in essence, my little girl has grown up, flown the nest and found herself a mate. It's exciting, a new chapter in her life. Meanwhile she's pursuing her masters in College counseling at DePaul University in Chicago.

My younger daughter has also flown the nest, chasing her master's degree at University of Illinois Circle Campus in occupational therapy. We're entering an exciting new chapter in our lives, empty-nesters. I'll let you know how it goes. I needed to share this with my "online" friends.

The wedding was a resounding success. I would love to post photos (but not sure how to do that on Trulia)... She was so beautiful!

the party went 'till 1:00 in the morning, and then the bride & groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen carried the afterparty to Tommy Nevins (a local tavern) and continued 'till 3:00 a.m. (ah, the energy of youth!).

Sunday, the bride and groom came over and told her mom and me, that it was the "best wedding ever, and "thanks... you gave me the wedding of my dreams!"

That made it all worthwhile... all the effort... all the money... all the planning...
She melted her father's heart!! :-)

Elvis,

Congrats...... on the wedding and the success of your daughters so far. So, is the music still playing? We want to see pictures. :-)

And, that room down the hall that you think you can reclaim, or that storage space you think you will gain...it's an illusion. Once they have "their" homes, your home is still "theirs", too.

Deborah

Congratulations! Elvis! Your daughter is getting married - by now, married!!! And you (the daddy) like the boy! How wonderful can that be!

Sounds like both daughters are doing great, very accomplished - must have some wonderful parents! You wouldn't want to take that credit, would you?

Thanks for sharing with us. I love the news! Although ti worries me that you were on Trulia on her big day. We should chat about that!

Congrats again!

Sylvia
