If you and a spouse had used a real estate attorney to purchase a property (co-buy) then divorced, is it a conflict of interest if your former spouse retains same lawyer to sue you over the same property in Ct.?

Veronica without knowing if there is a specific CT law that says they would allow it, in most cases it is a conflict of intrest for the lawyer to practice law in the same field or specific reason the couple used the lawyer for to begin with. You should check with the CT bar association. You may be able to find it online in a simple google search. Good luck working things out

We cannot give you anything other than opinions and they are only as valuable as if you asked the butcher the same question.
You need an attorney to answer the question.

My opinion is that it sounds like it is. However that being said, you should discuss this with a competent attorney. Good luck on this problem.

No, it is not a conflict of interest. If anyone has a conflict of interest, it could be the lawyer but if your ex-spouse wants to hire him/her, it is her/his perogavtive.
