a great place for business opportunites as well. If i decide to move there I want my 9 & 11 yr old to be in a safe neighborhood that also has diversity. I hear the homes are beautiful & less expensive than other places. Please answer with honesty. Thanks. The ATL housewives have painted a more hollywood setting so just want to know how it really is out there.

The ATL Housewives as a data source? The only problems there are they don't live in Atlanta and they aren't really housewives. That show is not at all representative of Atlanta, and I'm sticking up for Atlanta despite being a native NY'er......

Gina, If you are considering moving to Atlanta, Buckhead is the best place to be in the city. Buckhead's public schools have been recognized nationally and continue to be some of the most sought after in Atlanta. If you would like more information about individual public schools of buckhead you can read more here: http://www.buckheadgarealestate.com/Public-Schools.php

Homes in Buckhead are beautiful and the address is in high demand, due in large part to its proximity to many Atlanta businesses. Home prices range greatly, you can search through your options here: http://www.buckheadgarealestate.com/idx/

Hi Gina,

As west coast transplants, my wife from Portland,Oregon and myself from Santa Ana, California, we have found Atlanta to be a great place to raise our daughter. In fact our whole families have moved here from the west coast after visiting us a number of times. We all live in Gwinnett County and have found the public school system to be wonderful for all our nieces and nephews,,,and of course for our daughter. Check out the link below and the one Michael sent you for detailed info regarding the school systems:

You will find the home prices to be significantly lower for a comparable home in Washington state and yes there are all types of architectual styles to fit anyones needs and desires. Buckhead is a great place to live and tends to be upper end of price scale for Metro Atlanta...Hollywood not quite...if you have ever been there then you will find that to be more TV scripting than anything else, though Buckhead does have it's moments and is quite lively....if you are looking for night life.

Business opportunities abound and diversity is found inmost areas of town. If I can be of further assistance feel free to call me at 770-714-7077.
