Hi Mariana,

There are three school districts that feed into the city of Grand Prairie: Grand Prairie ISD, Mansfield ISD, and Arlington ISD. There are two great websites that you can go to!…

What are you & your husband looking for in your new home (i.e price range, # of bdrms/bths, sq footage, new or preowned, etc.). I would be more than happy to assist! I've been a Grand Prairie resident for 21 yrs. I specialize in the sales of brand new homes in the DFW area. Please feel free to call or email me at your convenience.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Make it a Blessed Day!

You have received some good answers. If your husband will be commuting to Grand Prairie, why not look in Grand Prairie itself. Parts of it are in the Mansfield ISD which are highly rated. One of my favorite neighborhoods of GP is Mira Lagos. It's a master planned community with pools, parks, the lake is close by.

Here are a couple of links for you to check out.…

The website listed below has a great deal of information on schools. Several relocation clients has found this information to be very helpful. For crime statistics I have listed the website below.
These to websites should help you in finding the best school and safest area. If I can help further call me.

A website I suggest to my North Texas clients, and even use myself is They provide a valuable resource by giving information, and ratings for schools all across the USA. Sign up for their email alerts, and get great information sent to you weekly about the schools your interested in, or information about a specific grade level if you choose.

I understand the importance of finding a good rated school. I have three adult children now and I am raising 2 pre-teens. Call me. I will walk with you thru this and help with the research.

It really depends on what you want in a school. Do you care about the overall rating? Do you want a low teacher student ratio? What are your child's interests? I have heard so many good things about the schools and the teachers in Mansfield. There are several middle schools that have good overall ratings. You may also want to check on the high school for the future if you plan on staying in the area.

I lived in Mansfield and really like the small town atmosphere. There are a wide range of subdivisions for all price ranges. I am familiar with all of the neighborhoods and builders in Mansfield.

There are so many new shops and an open air mall that will be opening soon. Mansfield is south of Arlington but not as crowded. It would be an easy commute to Grand Prairie.

What price range do you want to be in?
Top of mind says Mansfield, but there may be other choices as well.

I agree with the first agent’s answer. TEA (Texas Education Agency) is definitely a good place to start to get an idea of school ratings. Also, once you think you’ve narrowed down the neighborhoods a bit, you can call the local police dept. for that area to find out about the crime statistics.

I definitely suggest you should consider Mansfield TX and parts of S Arlington too, depending on your husband's work address of course.

Mansfield was in MONEY Magazine and CNN/Money’s top 100 "Best Places to Live” in 2008, because of the “city's lush parks and opens spaces, great schools and low crime.”

If you haven’t found a local agent, look no farther. I specialize in S Arlington, Mansfield and parts of S Grand Prairie and I'll be glad to help you find just the right home.

Take care,

This would really come down to how much you are looking to spend and what size home you are looking for. I would be happy to send you searches for a few different areas. Also you can go to the TEA website and search by district for their individual ratings and school ratings.

I would love to be interviewed as your perspective Realtor. As an added bonus to my responsive informed service I give 20% of my commission back to all my buyers.
