If the anwers to the question above is in the affirmative, has the real estate market in the area been adversely affected by this ?

The EPA came in and closed our Landfill because the company that ran it wanted to expand. That was not going to happen. Then you had a chemical plant on the Rt 422 corridor that was connected to the cancer cluster. Most of the cancers were showing up in young adults/children. That plant is closed now. I was a 6 year resident of Pottstown and it was a great opportunity to own a home that was reasonable in cost and yes that was my first home.

Caner clusters are found throughout Southeastern/central PA. It doesn't matter where you buy, you're bound to hear about SOMETHING causing cancer in that area. Study findings while helpful appear to dubious at best. In Conshohocken, its the trash/steam plant causing concern, in King Of Prussia its contaminated ground water, in Chester County its higher average levels of radon. Pottstown is no different. We''re living in a more health conscious and environmentally conscious world than we ever have before. Cancer is everywhere. Unfortunately, its up to the individual to take action against making yourself susceptible. I don't believe the market has been affected by this information whether true or not and Pottstown continues to be a haven for 1st time buyers because of its affordable housing prices.
