Research both areas, and decide which works better for you. That includes housing affordability, quality of life, neighborhood selection, quality of schools (if that's a factor), proximity to whatever's important to you (shopping, employment, vacation amenities, etc.), and so on. Judging from the answers below, they're both good area--nothing you should immediately eliminate from consideration. So, don't get rushed into anything; don't get pressured by friends. Do you own due dilligence. Find out what's best for you.

I guess it all depends on the reason for purchasing a home in NC. We are the 7th most popular state for relocation. But High Point and Mooresville are so removed from each other as far as real estate demographics go, that it seems that either one or the other must definitely fit your primary reason for relocating. While I do not work the Mooresville area of the state, I have heard nothing but good things including being a primary area for NASCAR. On the other hand, High Point is the furniture capital of the world, we're centrally located not only in the Triad, but equally close to the ocean and the mountains. Poupette, I guess it is all in the opinion. Now Mooresville is close to Lake Norman and Charlotte. So I guess it depends on where you want to be and what you want. You will get more house for your money in Fountain Grove and here the house values have consistently risen steadily. Now in Mooresville I cannot comment since I do not cover that area. I do know the area since I have lived near there. It is a nice area but, like I said it depends on what you want.
