I have two Latino children, and an African American daughter. We love the diversity in our family, and in our community.
Again, this is all realitve to those who have lived in a place like NYC (the definition of a melting pot) but point being is that SLC and the people of Utah are generally super friendly/nice to those of different backgrounds/cultures/races etc.
Link to SLC wiki demographics below.
We do have a reputation for less than a melting pot don't we! :) I live in Salt Lake and you would be surprised at the diversity. There are outlying areas that may not be quite so diverse, but I think you would be surprised at how welcoming you would find it. Just like anywhere else, you will find what you are looking for in Salt Lake. We get a bit of a bad rap. I used to coach at the University of Utah and recruiting athletes from out of state was a challenge. However once here, without exception they fell in love with the place and their fears of being "different" were not realized.
No Worries... if you want more info on specific areas around Salt Lake and the properties here I would love to help.
