I would suggest that you work with a realtor, and if you haven't chosen one then I'd be happy to assist you. I've helped so many people from different ethnicity relocate to Coppell and Irving and I share my knowledge with my clients as well.

Servicing your real estate need is my priority!
I now live in Coppell. I think it is a great community, especially for someone coming here from abroad. Small town in the middle of a big city. So you get a great combination of lifestyle. Great schools, easy commute to Irving, easy to get to the airport, some diversity, some chance you will meet someone just like you. Surprisingly enough there are 200 RSAF guys living in Irving flying helicopters....some with families.
There might be other options depending on if you want to rent or buy, and how much you want to spend and maybe how long you think you might be here. Flower Mound might be an option, Colleyville or Southlake might be an option or could be others.
We service all relocation companies, so even if they want to assign you an agent, you can tell them you've already found a good match, if you think I would be a good fit to help you. Feel free to call me or contact me any time.

Irving is a very convenient location giving you options to several great areas. For a nearby commute and schools in addition to Coppell, you can consider Grapevine, Southlake, Carrollton and the Castle Hills area just to name a few. Please feel free to contact me and we can go into further details.

I moved with my family to Europe for several years and then back, so I know what expats go through. Give me a call when you have a chance (if you'd prefer, we can do it via Skype while you're still abroad) and we can discuss your concerns and your best options.
Sorry for so many questions, but coming from Singapore you understand my concerns:)
