I am not a Realtor so I will tell you the truth. Eastchester schools are better but you're going to pay more property tax and depending where you are it could be twice as much. I am a product of saunders trades and tech high school in yonkers (late 80's and early 90's) and it was a great school. i believe though that the entire yonkers school system has since fallen victim to the liberal movement and the politicians have destroyed the educational system by eliminating "neighborhood" or "community" schools and busing kids from across town so they can ruin the atmosphere. In other words, your child who you want the best for and moved to a great neighborhood can be in the same class as a drug addict's whose parent is in and out rehab and who unfortunately is in and out of foster homes. It's a shame to see a great city being plagued my illegals (the entire Yonkers Ave) and being overrun by low lives forcing decent hard working families who want a better life to leave Yonkers. From my understanding they may be returning to the "neighborhood" school structure but it may be too late because the damage has been done. Note that Crestwood , Beechwood and the areas around Bronxville and Scarsdale are still very nice due to the fact that bus routes in this area are limited (good thing) keeping unwanted company away and the elementary schools have somewhat weathered the political agenda because most of the parents in this area are very proactive in their child's education and classroom activities. Hopefully, the good citizens of Yonkers will continue fighting the crooked politicians. Maybe then I will return back to Yonkers and raise my new family there.
Lake Isle is very nice with beautiful homes and community. I was looking around there as well. I'm not sure but I think some of the homes in this area may be in the Tuckahoe school district so if you are looking for Eastchester schools double check
