Hi, I am wanting to relocate to Gulfport with my 7 year old daughter. I would be looking to lease, or lease to buy a home. What is the average cost of all of the 'extras' ie health insurance, home insurance, utilities etc? per month??? Also what is the best school in the area for my daughter, we are not of any specific religion really.
Dear Angie: Gulfport is just one part of the greater St. Petersburg area and the cost of living there is about the same as it is in St. Pete, South Pasadena, Largo, Pinellas Park, Clearwater and other places. The cost of housing is quite reasonable and Gulfport is especially known for it's small town charm, art galleries, restaurants and local color. If you have more specific questions, I'd be glad to speak with you.
Give us a call. We would be happy to talk with you about the specifics of your questions.
Best regards,

Health ins depends on your employer. Utilities about 150 a month for electric, 50 for basic cable, 50 for water , sewer and trash another 40. There really isnt a hands down best school in that area. Probably Bear Creek or Woodlawn. Houses in Gulfport are a little more expensive than St. Pete but they are on the decline. Lots of African Americans moving into the neighborhood.
