Can someone help me compare and contrast Hopkinton and Holliston with Norfolk and Millis?
We are considering a move to the Boston area and we're looking for a town with good schools and close proximity to the commuter rail (either Framingham or Franklin line) into South Station. It seems that we can get more house for the money in Norfolk/Millis area than Hopkinton/Holliston. Is there a big difference between these towns?

Hi, You may want to consider Natick and Ashland, both have commuter rail and good school systems. Ashland is further west so it is more affordable. Natick has 2 train stations, easy acces to the Mass Turnpike and it has the new and improved mall, pretentiously called the Natick Collection.
If you do decide on Millis, which is a very nice town a little more rural than the others, check out my web site. I will have a new listing in April for a wonderful family home,,,,3200 sq ft Colonial in almost 2 acres of land. Good luck in your search. Whichever town you choose I think you will like the area. I live and sell real estate in hopkinton and Holliston. Hopkinton and Holliston have highly regarded school systems. Even if you don't have school age children, property values remain higher in communities with good schools. Southboro is not as convenient for commuters in general. Hopkinton is great for sommuting. There is a interstate 495 exit and access to 90 MAss Pike is 4 miles. The commuter rail station in Southboro and Ashland are right on the town line, so both are easy access.
Feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance. Wed Mar 26 2008, 10:47 Web Reference: http://www.metrowestareahomes.com

Bob,
I'm a Realtor and a Real Estate Appraiser who lives in Norfolk. We have a commuter rail station right in town that gets you into South Station in about 50 minutes. The other three towns do not have commuter rail stations in their towns (but they do in their neighboring towns). We moved out to Norfolk from Boston just over five years ago when our first child was born. We love it out here and I'm happy to tell you all about why. I'm also happy to give you my opinion on how these towns compare and contrast with each other, but I'm afraid it might be a little too long for this forum. Drop me a line at "mlefebvre at verizon dot net", and I will put it all in an e-mail for you later tonight. Gotta run and show some homes right now! Are you folks coming up from Huntersville, NC? Good luck with the move and I look forward to sharing some info with you! All My Best, Mike Wed Mar 26 2008, 10:39 Web Reference: http://www.30jefferson.com
