Buying in Downtown Rock Hill???

Asked by Nick, Rock Hill, SC Tue Oct 14, 2008

Im thinking of investing in a house in downtown Rock Hill, it's on State Street Extension. I'v heard from a few people that area is a high crime and drug area. When I drove through the neighborhood it didn't seem that bad, and I know for a fact there are much worse area's in York County. Has anyone else heard of that area being a high crime and drug area?

Crime statistics are available and you should research any area in which you want to live. Downtown is in the process of continued re-vitalization. Winthrop University and business leaders have huge initiatives underway to increase the number of restaurants, businesses, living, etc. Churches are very active in the area.
