Brentwood or Oakley California?

We are looking into buying a home in either Brentwood ot Oakley. The realtors I've spoken with seem to be steering me more towards Brentwood and I'm not sure why...the prices are lower in Oakley. What is the real difference between the two?

Forget what the realtors want you to buy, its your money and decision. Go with what makes most sense for you and your family.

Brentwood home values typically have been better than Oakley. Oakley is a fairly new city and has it growing pains. Check the internet and check out the schools as well. Brentwood being a city much longer just seems to have more to offer. I'm sure in time, Oakley will mature into a wonderful city, but as it stands it just doesn't have as much to offer as Brentwood does. I hope this helps you in your decision making process. I have lived in the area since 1968, and lived in both areas, and Brentwood does have more to offer in terms of medical services, shopping, etc. Best of luck in your search, and let me know if I can help in any way! Hi-

I lived in Antioch, CA. for three years from 2002-2005, which borders both Brentwood and Oakley. In my opinion, Brentwood has better infrastructure, such as brand new schools and housing developments, yet still surrounded by the rural agriculture. We always went to Brentwood for the fabulous farm stands and u-pick farms. Brentwood is more visually appealing as well, to me personally. I would try to prioritize what your biggest needs are for your future home. Is it schools, a reasonable commute, access to transportation? You may also want to check the crime rates for each area to help you make your decision. Have you been to both locations?

Good luck with your search. Feel free to email me with any additional questions you might have regarding that general area. I am a Home Stager, not a realtor, so can only provide you information based upon my personal experience.
