David B, Home Buyer in Lauderhill, FL

regarding the "off market" button in the left upper corner of a listing:

Asked by David B, Lauderhill, FL Sun Feb 6, 2011

does this mean the property has been sold, or that it has been taken off the market and NOT sold, or just that the listing has expired?

Would appreciate clarification on this, thanks!

David

It means that the property has been taken off market, not sold or expired, there are "buttons" for those options. Perhaps the bank took over the property thru foreclosure. Maybe the homeowner wants to do some repairs and does not want it shown during that time.

Off market can mean several things. It is pending is the most common. If a property is temporarily off the market could be another. Either way you can't see the house. The best thing to do is move on. There are plenty of good buys in todays market and more being listed daily.

Hi David: I checked and found the property on the MLS for you - this particular unit #422 is under contract at the moment so it is Pending Sale. It went under contract on January 25th and is expected to close on February 11th.

If I can help you with similar units, please let me know. FYI, there is currently one 2-bedroom unit on the same floor, which is a regular sale, listing at $199,000 and there's a 1-bedroom foreclosure, listed at $67,900. FYI, unit 422 was a Freddie Mac owned foreclosure.

Hope this helped!

Best regards,
