Hi Edwin,
I checked the tax records and Jack is shown as the owner, so maybe he wants to rent it. However, it is also on the market for rent. The $1000 rental may be for short term only, until the property is sold. You know what they say, if it's too good to be true....

There are scammers who are finding out the names of the actual homeowner and creating fake yahoo email accounts using those names. That's what I'm finding.

I'm looking at the same situation with a house in Marina Pacifica in Long Beach. Listed as being for rent at $1200. Unheard of. I've been emailing back and forth with the alleged owner (and yes, the name is the name of the owner, but I'm thinking he created a yahoo email account using this person's name.
Very suspicious story about him living in Houston and not being able to come show the house, etc.

I'm sure this guy is going to be collecting money from innocent people. What can one do about it?

It might be. It is a common scam for a person "rent out" a vacant home that is for sale when they in fact do not own the property or have the right to rent it out. Once they collect a deposit and first months rent they disappear. You are non the wiser until your moving in, and usually the real estate agent, will come and tell you you have been scammed. However, absentee owners do sometimes also look for people to lease or rent their properties while it is on the market and if they are not able to find a buyer at the price they want they rent it out. This is a valid and current listing on the MLS with Craig Ratowsky at Coldwell Banker Beachside. You should contact him if you are thinking of renting it, he'll know if it is valid or not.

Hello Edwin, Yes of course it is. There are a lot of scams out there these days so beware. You should have an agent/broker look up the status of the property and whom you should be dealing with. The lowest rental price in that zip code is from 2bd 1ba single family home. There are some rental bachelor studio apts from $750 in Long Beach. The purchase start from 89k for studio bachelor condos which is from $450 down payment. Do you need RENT vs BUY listings emailed to you to study and compare?

You may qualify to buy from a minimum 580 fico score and 3.5% down or as low as .5% half percent down payment program. You may qualify to buy with minimum out of pocket expenses and pay less than rent. It only takes a few dozen questions to qualify you in minutes and go over your options.

I specialize in Under 640 Fico Score Loans and offer credit repair at no cost to raise fico scores to qualify. Here are some links to study and consider that I offer in RENT vs BUY options.

Jack J Gallizio - Edwin Zavala -

This seems like a scam - I can search the MLS and find out. $1,000 for a 4 bedroom in this area is un-heard of.

What is your email address?
