This property sold, and you're looking at the public record info. So....the big question is...why does it matter? If you insist on the info being accurate, you can contact your county assessor and get them to make the correction. (Which may involve coming to the house, inspecting, measuring, etc) BUT get ready for HIGHER taxes if your SF is going up, or if you're added a bedroom or bathroom. And then....was work done that was permitted?? You could be opening up a can o worms!

So I ask again...why does it matter to you and what is it you're trying to accomplish?

Tbohunk,

We get a variation of this question a couple of times a week. I agree with Sally below. Why does it matter? There is no reason for anyone to look it up and it won't matter to them what it shows if they did. If you ever do a refinance or sell the home in the future a Realtor will find out the correct information. An appraiser will also ignore what the county records say as to your homes description and do his wn research. The only thing you will accomplish is get the information changed for the county to raise your taxes. As the saying goes, 'Let sleeping dogs lie'. All the best.
