you have the projects on alemany lots shootings ,one part of brotherhood way is a no go area, that area is near you its better towards the ocean,,,I would also worry about freeway noise and pollution, its 24 hours,on 280,check the weather you might have fog all day for most of the year, some parts are sunny
also its overpriced like most houses in san Francisco a few years ago it would go for $200,000,at the moment you would be buying into a bubble market
theres a lot of condos being built in sf,in 2008-2010 you could not sell a house in san Francisco, theres been about 9,000 condos built in last 2 years and a lot more due,2017 should be the end of the boom,an earthquake will clear out half the city maybe before then, the 1987 earthquake we had the 1990-1992 housing price collapse,as people left the city I read sales have dropped I the city in October,i wonder will a lot of the tall buildings be still standing as most of its built on sand,

No one can give you actual crime stats without opening his or herself up to a lawsuit. Go to http://www.sfgov.org the Mayor's website and look for crime stats for any and all neighborhoods. I heard they are often a month or two behind but.... close enough I would guess.

Good luck!

Checking with the local police station and visiting the area at different times of the day and different days including weekends -- all good advice even if you think you know the area. Also, below most listings in Trulia you'll find information about reported crimes in the area. In the "Local Info" section click on the "Crime". If you zoom out you can get an idea how this area compares with other areas of the city. Also as mentioned there are other apps and tools. The San Francisco Police Department uses crimemapping.com. Use the link below, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "I agree".

Kingston,

You can get crime information at the local police station and by visiting this site for crime statistics.
http://www.sf-police.org
http://www.crimemapping.com/map.aspx

In addition I recommend you visit the neighborhood during different time of the day to get your own opinion on the area.
