Prosper is a unique area with a home sale price average much higher than many parts of the DFW Metroplex. This is due to such a high level of new builds in the custom home sector. We have some amazing builders, and the average price of a home is in the mid-$400,000's. Searching just generically by price, without other criteria, you will find a myriad of custom homes on acreage selling above $500,000 and into the millions. You only have a limited time to protest your property value for tax purposes - the end of May is the end of the protest period. The protest form is available online on the tax appraisal site for Collin County. Directions are posted on the site. If you purchased in the last couple of years, take your Settlement Statement with you to the Appraisal office. And, be sure to ask an agent to run comparative home sales for your neighborhood.
