The well is located in the front yard, approximately 5-10 feet from front porch. The Septic is approximately 20 ft, out, directly from bathroom window, in back yard.

Hi...If you bought your home in 2006 & have a mortgage, you would have to either have had a survey completed or a survey approved by your mortgage company that may have been the previous sellers within 10 yrs. & no new improvements were made. You should have received a copy when you closed. If you didn't or can't locate it, try your closing attorney, they may have it or your mortgage company. Possibly even the title company. If you find the survey, it should show the location of the septic & the well. If not, then you certainly can check with the town, although many don't have records prior to the past 10 yrs. or so. You can also hire a septic company to locate the septic & a well company to locate the well. They have various ways of doing that including some electronic devices. This will cost several hundred dollars. I bet though that survey may be tucked away with all the documents you sign at closing, so check there first. Good Luck!

A survey can be tough to get a hold of because it is not public record. However, if you go to the local Health dept. you can request to look at the home's file. The health dept. oversees septic. If it is a newer septic all the plans would be there in addition to where the well is. If you get lucky there may even be a survey or at least a plot plan. You can also get a copy of the tax map which may be helpful too, by visiting:

Hope that helps.
