Lou, Home Buyer in Florida

Why is this property still on the market when i have an offer on it?

Asked by Lou, Florida Mon Aug 10, 2009

Other sites say it's no longer on the MLS, but this site still has it listed. Any reason?

Hi Lou,

The property you have an offer on is listed as a short sale. Even if you have a signed contract from the seller of this property, the bank still has to ok the sale due to a short payoff to the bank.
If the bank has ok'd the sale and you are in contract, you may still see the property listed as active on certain websites because they are not always be up to date with our MLS. Trulia for example only has the information after the sale is complete, unless the listing agent changes the information prior to closing.
