Ms. Johnson, these condos used to be the USAA Towers and were primarily for military officer retirees. They are now open to non-military retirees but still age restricted. One of the owners must be 50 years old or older. Amenities are the best you could ask for (and definitely pay for).

San Antonio does have some very nice condos with much better condo fees. Several new condos are now being build relatively close to Ft Sam Houston.

Email me with some of the criteria you have on a home and I can do some research for you. Being retired military myself and having served at Fort Sam, I am very familiar with what you might be looking for.

The Tower"s HOA fees are very high because of all the ammenities that are covered. Some of them include 24 hour surveillance, secured covered parking, weekly housekeeping, concierge and valet service, Recreational, educational and other programs, professional fitness instructor and group classes and more. It's really nice
Are you looking for a condo in the area around Ft Sam or just in SAn Antonio in general?

I would check with your agent. I doubt that is a monthly charge. It's probably the yearly fee but I could be mistaken as I am not familiar with the San Antonio Condo market.
