Susan: Unless you're working with a certified buyer representative, the commission is usually built into the price so it shouldn't be a concern. If you hire a buyer's agent to work for you, it is also built into the price and is always paid out of the proceeds. We are not really supposed to speak publicly about our percentages because it could be viewed as an antitrust violation. But if you would contact me directly, I would be pleased to furnish you with any information you require. If you're interested in that property, I could also show it to you.

Good Luck!

Buyers agent will usually receive approx. 3% of sale of home PAID BY seller not by buyer.

Listing agent will receive approx. the same.

Susan there is no set percentage that a real estate broker asks for. You should interview realtors and outside of the percentage also compare their services being offered. Good luck.
