When a property is listed 'AS IS", that means the seller is not going to make any changes or repairs to the property if the buyer makes that request. Often times, this could be an estate sale, where family members who have inherited a property are not available to make repairs, don't have the ability to make repairs, or just cannot afford to pay someone to make repairs to a house before it is sold. When a bank owns a property, such as a foreclosure, it is almost always listed 'AS IS'. I always recommend that my buyers have a home inspection of the property, so they'll know what they might have to deal with.
