Nancy,
The MLS says that this home is still available. If you want to see the home I'd verify that it was still available before you made the drive out to see it - one of the big problems we're having with foreclosure agents/companies right now is accurate reporting of pending sales. It's not all their fault as many of their properties sell with multiple offers and many of their sales fall through.
Rowley is a common Waterford neighborhood. Public Record Data indicates that there was a mortgage on the home of $ 161,500 at one time so, as long as it doesn't need too much work, you've identified a great bargain.
I envy homebuyers in this market - I wish I could buy 10! Please let me know if you would like me to show you the home.
Nancy:
As the first few answers indicate, yes this still appears to be available and is now a bank-owned property (seller no longer has any redemption rights). Any offers at this point should invoke a response more quickly... and your tax base moving forward as your primary residence would be between $2100-2200 total per year, based on it's current assessed value. I did a detailed summary on how property taxes are calculated; if you would like a copy, let me know and I'll email one to you.
