Your question concerning Surfside lane in Carlsbad is really very timely. Currently, there is a "modular" home that nearing completion on that street. Also, if you are familiar with the area, you are likely aware that there are two "mobile home" communities in close proximity to Surfside Lane which may have lead to your question.
Their are significant differences between modular homes and mobile homes and their are significant differences in what the city allows for each. It is not likely that a mobile home would be allowed on Surfside or outside a designated mobile home community but modular homes have been built in many different parts of Carlsbad including Surfside Lane.
