There has been no mortgage payments or property taxes paid on this home in aprox 9 - 10 months now.  The owner hung himself ? Is it customary for other members of the house to take all the appliances and landscaping with them due to neglect of payment and responsibility to the property?

Go to this website http://www.acsheriff.org and download the sherrif sales list. You can also give them a call and ask them about the property. If its already listed for sale just contact the listing agent. If the property hasn't sold yet, I dont see why family members wouldn't be cleaning out the house.

It is not currently listed for sale in the Atlantic City/County MLS (South Jersey Shore). Preforeclosure means the mortgagee (the bank) has filed notice it plans to proceed with foreclosure. The best place to check is on the county website.

To answer your second question, they still own the property and can do as they please. Oftentimes in short sales or foreclosures the property gets picked over, with appliances being taken or sold.

I hope this helps. I work in Atlantic County so if I can be of further assistance, feel free to contact me.
