Hi James, that home is also listed at: http://www.realrentals.com/house-for-rent/?list_id=998327808

Proceed cautiously when renting directly from anyone advertising on the internet. Ask to view the property in person, verify that the person showing the home is the owner or has authorization to act on the owners' behalf, never give them cash. Anyone who owns the home can produce proof by presenting the deed or a recent HUD statement that they purchased the home. You can also call or go down to the municipal building for that town and verify who owns the property. Then make sure you get a legitimate lease and the Truth in Renting booklet for NJ.

James,

More and more I see listings that are "spammed" on Craigs list. If it shows as sold on Trulia, and that's comfirmed by Ines, ,then most likely it is NOT for rent. If the listing on Craigs list says "owner out of town/ country/ overseas" and there is no listing agent then it's probably a scam. " Send me money then I will send you the keys."

I had a house listed for sale for $699,000 and someone spammed it on Craigs list for $1400/month. Fortunately a few observant people who saw the listing on Criags list clooked up the listing on Trulia or Realtor.com and called me directly. The house was NEVER listed for rent, but the spammer copied my entire listing right down to the photos and my description. The rental listing" said owner was overseas, but the "property manager had the keys" Send the security deposit to him and he will send the keys.

This home was bought in April 2011 by party that has an LLC and now it is trying to get a tenant for it. This home is not shown as a rental in the Multiple Listing Service. It does not have to.
