656 Silver probably has a back yard given the size of the house to the parcel and the fact that it references back yard sprinklers. As the 3 kids get older other factors along with the backyard may be important. Distance to the schools, beach, and downtown, and weather you want to be on the east side or west side of Highway One are considerations. Highland Park, where Silver is located is walking distance to the high school but not to the elementary school, and is across the highway from the shopping center. Highland Park neighborhood (Silver) is a nice family neighborhood. Other areas to look into include Alsace Lorraine, Arleta Park/Wavecrest and Frenchman’s Creek. A comparison house to 656 Silver is 428 Poplar (Arleta Park neighborhood), both are colleagues' Coldwell Banker HMB office listings. Best of luck.

I just check the MLS and it shows that the home has a deck.
I can't remember exactly what the yard looks like... but could check it out for you tomorrow if you like -
The home is 3441 sq ft (Assessor) and the lot size shows 8,625 sq ft (Assessor) so there is some room as that's a pretty big lot...
It is close to some open space and to the high school. Close to 92 and a short ways from the beaches and town.

Just to confirm the property is still available, asking price is still $999,000, and it has been on the market 91 days. (I say this because some time Trulia's info can be a few days delayed).
Secondly, I haven't visited this property. But If you view the property from Google Maps Satellite View you can see that the property has a decent sized wrap around side yard (wraps around the back).
