I'm looking at is in the hills and I wonder about mosquitos. I would be buying this house for the outdoor patio, but would want to use it. Thanks for your thoughts...

Also we have aggressive yellowjackets very bad in warm months -they clean up the bobcat kills so I guess we need them...
yes, the bobcats must team up to kill small deer here- I have pictures of a cub guarding a fresh kill down in a creek, in the water (where the vultures won't go!) smart kitties.
also:
lots of tiny ants and huge ones- very aggressive if you step on their nest
huge red spiders mostly non-poisinous
dark red/brown scorpions-not as dangerous as others they say.
paper wasps
termites
carpenter ants
bats
owls
turkeys
many raptors
coyotes (sounds like 10-15) up on a ridge close to town
skunks
opossoms
huge racoons
big deer that wipe out all green shoots
poison oak
sudden oak death( near Bay Laurels)
star thistle-ouch!

hundreds of noisy crows
cicadaes (crickets right now Aug-Sept.)
tree/ roof rats that are smart
lots of barking dogs here sometimes so make frequent trips all hours to your new home if you are sound sensitive!
This is only a partial list!

I found a huge stash of live mosq. larvae inside the bottom of a large Oak at base. FULL OF RAIN WATER
I bailed about 2 gals water out very late spring . They breed in a walnut shell of water. So we will always have them.
I'm sure mosquitos have a purpose but can't think of any good they do?
Its a WONDERFUL place critters, pests , pets and all.

Mosquito problems are local, often very local. Talk with neighbors. Talk with the seller if you can. Attached you'll find more information about mosquitos than you want.
