You can call the local utility companies (Duquesne Light and Columbia Gas) and ask them what the average monthly bill is for that address. They should tell you that information for the "average" monthly bill.... more
When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local authorities with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.
Hi Sarah, It depends on where you would be working, One area to consider in the North Hills McCandless area. If you work downtown or in Cranberry you are 20 min to either of those 2 locations, a Basement and a 2 car garage should not be an issue in this area. The School's in the area are very good. North Allegheny is ranked nationally almost every year. There are many parks in the area, one being North park which offers fishing, boating, picnic areas, horse riding, skating rinks and other family activities.
There are also several gyms in the area YMCA's and youth sports leagues to choose from for the kids. I have 3 kids my self and that was the deciding factor on where I wanted to live. I'd be happy to show you and your family around the area or answer any questions you may have.

Hello Ashley, If you have a specific property in mind, you can reach out to the local utility companies and they can give you a 12 month average of the utility companies at no charge. You would need a physical address to get the info. I hope this helps. If you have any questions, feel free to email me @ email@example.com or visit my website @ www.harrystine.com... more
It appears there is a Allegheny County law that you can have up to five dogs. More than that and you'd need a kennel license. You can foster additional dogs over the max of five. The city of Pittsburgh has the same rule that was clearly posted on their website http://pittsburghpa.gov/animalcontrol/owners.htm... more
