There are plenty of land lots ready for your custom home to be built. Email me with your requirements and price range and I will get you a list immediately.
I just checked your link for the home and I don't see where it says that your property sold in 2012. The only thing I saw was that it shows property taxes for 2012. Under homes that sold near you is a similar address but it is Street not Place that sold in 2012. Could it be possible that you were looking at this address instead? 14828 N 51st St, Scottsdale AZ 0.06 mi Single-Family Home $283,000 8/28/12.
I also checked MLS and the tax records and it does not have any information that your property has sold since your purchased it in June 1989.
Hope this helps.

You can go to the county property appraiser website and check the online property records, as for are they in foreclosure, you would have to go to the online court records, enter the name of the person you are renting from and see if Les Pends or other Foreclosure documents come up! I hope that they are not, I have seen some great families lose their rental homes here in Florida, many never even got much notice before the Sheriff tacked the vacate notice on the door!. If you do find that a bank is foreclosing on the owner, you need to go to a Real Estate Attorney, the few hundred dollars is worth it, they will have answers as well as remedies and procedures that will keep you in the home for a while longer, some may even be able to show you a way to negotiate with the bank to buy the home.... more
"High crime" is a relative term, so as Realtors we really cannot answer that question.
However, I can give you the link to a website that can help you make that determination.

Definitely check out apartmentratings.com, but keep in mind- sometimes upset tenants just use it as a place to vent. I've heard great things from people who live in the community at Tatum & Union Hills.
Another option is to find a private condo or townhouse... there are definite pros to renting from a small single owner, than an apartment community.
If you would like help finding a rental you can contact a locator, like myself, to help you narrow down your search and do the visits with you. I'd be happy to interview for the position, but there are other companies and Realtors who offer similar services. Let me know.
