How can I live near the park?

To me, the best part of New York City is Central Park. Obviously, it is expensive to live near there. However, is there any particular side of the park, or area near it that would be the best deal?

Dear Dan,

There are, surprisingly, many properties near Central Park that may be affordable to you. It would, of course, depend on how many bedrooms you are looking at as well as any other requirements you have. On the North side of Central Park, it is more likely that you would be able to find a suitable apartment. There are also many smaller parks around Manhattan, and considering looking along their boundaries could be another option. If you are still looking, I would recommend contacting a buyer's agent. I work at Elika Associates, Manhattan's only real estate firm that works solely for buyer clients. Our commission is paid by the seller, but we are able to utilize our knowledge of Manhattan real estate and understanding of your needs to find you the perfect apartment.

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Best Regards,

Get a refridgerator box, then find a bridge in the park. It's the absolutely cheapest way, but might require frequent moves.

Dan,
Suprisingly there are many affordable (for Manhattan) apartments available near Central Park.. . The best idea is to contact a local buyer-broker/ agent who can scour available listings and advise you about prices, and areas that fit your lifestyle at no added cost and no cost to you! (Unless agreed to differently or for most rentals)

Northern part of Central park would be the cheapest, but it is also the least safe. So, if you're willing to trade your safety for lower prices, that's a way to go. Otherwise, I would suggest West side over East Side. West Side prices are lower ( but still outrageous)

Woah, loaded question there young man! Well, the Northern border of the park may be wher eyou could find the best deals. However, anything near central Park is pretty much golden. The best way to live new the park is to marry someone who already lives there! HA!
