Parks galore! Both in the inner city and the suburbs you have plenty of parks, running paths and great dog parks throughout.

Many local parks provide recreational activities or you may travel to Memorial Park and enjoy the lighted jogging track and many other festivities there. Downtown parks provide relaxation during a hectic work day or you may travel to Galveston, about an hour away, and enjoy the beaches and shopping along the Strand.

Th Houston area has an abundance of parks to fit everyones needs. There is a park dedicated to Dogs, Herman park next to the Texas Medical Center has a world class Zoo, numerous museums and an outdoor theatre. Memorial Park is a very large park with golf, softball fields, Jogging along historic Buffalo Bayou and much more. The land for the park was given by Governer Hogg.

There are numerous parks in Houston and each suburban subdivision usually has a hike and bike trail and/or a recreation center and pool. The Memorial Park runs for many miles inside the loop around the city. This park is great for the runners, walkers and strollers as well as bikers.

The two largest parks in Houston are Memorial Park and Hermann Park. Both have golf courses open to the public. Hermann Park sits on the edge of Rice University and the Texas Medical Center, and includes the Houston Zoo, Miller Outdoor Theater, and a Japanese Garden. Memorial Park is located north of River Oaks and offers tennis courts, softball fields, and several bike and running/exercise trails. Dog parks are just coming into their own. Our most attractive dog park is west of Houston and called Millie Bush Dog Park. There are 2 pools for larger dogs and a separate area and pool for smaller dogs. It's worth the drive!

Houston has many large parks such as Memorial Park, Herman Park and Meyer Park for sports, picnics and pets. There are runnng paths in the local parks in all parts of town. In addition to this we have three new sports arenas. Reliant Stadium for the Houston Texans, Minutemaid Park for the Astros and Toyota Center for the Rockets.
