There are a bunch of parks in Fort Lauderdale. Whether your into sports or just enjoying the great outdoors, there's something to suit everyone. Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex is great for swimming. Joseph C. Carter Park is perfect for playing catch or soccer.

A great dog park in the Fort Lauderdale area is the Happy Tails Dog Park inside Seminole Park in Plantation.

For running paths, check out all the recreational trails throughout Davie. There's a ton.

South Florida has an unbelievable array of parks, recreational facilities and passive parks for every lifestyle. Dog parks can be found even on the beach! Horseback riding, canoeing, cycling and more are abundant throughout the county. The county has made greenspace a priority in city planning. There are several skating rinks, cycling facilities, multisports complexes as well as passive parks, bike paths and campgound/picnic locations throughout.
