The Miami New Times recently awarded the Miami Shores Aquatic Center with the winning title of best private swimming pool. It is open to all residents and includes an activity pool for the kiddies called Shipwreck Cove. The pool is also the practice home for the Predators Swim Team. The Miami Shores Recreation Complex Fields hosts an annual Marshmallow Drop where a helicopter hovers over the fields and rains marshmallows down for children to collect. Fun and funny! Memorial Park hosts a Spring Concerts in the Park Series. And check out this short description of the local tennis center.

The Miami Shores Recreation Department maintains a year-round professional staff that organizes all sorts of youth and adult leagues on the Villages playing fields, as well as youth and senior citizens activities in the Community Center. In addition, the Village owns the famed MIAMI SHORES COUNTRY CLUB, and golf and social memberships are available at discounted rates to residents of the Village. Unfortunately, the Shores does not have a Dog Park, but other parks include the Bay Walk along breezy Biscayne Bay, Optomist Park, shaded by centuries-old live oaks, and Veterans Park, the site of Memorial Day observances and the Outdoor Concerts held 3 Sundays each spring.
