Golf Course info. requested for Summerlin/Red Rock.
My wife and I are comparing Las Vegas with Phoenix for a possible retirement home within the next 2 years. The Summerlin area, including Red Rock Country Club in Las Vegas looks interesting. We would want to have a house on, or very near, a good golf course. Does anyone have a rough idea as to what membership fees would be to join the various private golf courses in Summerlin/Redrock? Any recommendations as to any particular village withhin Summerlin/Redrock near a golf course? Also, is crime generally lower in the gated communities in Summerlin compared to the general statistics for Las Vegas which show a fairly high crime rate?

We live in Red Rock. HOA was increased again this year to $240/mo (not inclusive of any Country Club activities/memberships).

Membership Fees:
- Golf - Executive - $7,500 to join then $440/month (must pay green fees/$50 per)
- Full Golf - $11,250 to join then $770/month (No green fees)
- Sports (all with no golf) - $4,800 to join then $300/month
- Social Only - Nothing to join $140/month - Basically access to the restaurant.
