Can Byram Township NJ residents join Lake Mohawk Beaches and the Lake Mohawk Country Club or do you have to be a resident of Sparta in order to join?

You must own property within the Lake Mohawk Reservation, which is located in Sparta Twp and Byram Twp.
If you live outside the reservation, you may purchase an unbuildable "club lot", which are currently available for under $10,000. You would then pay a one-time initiation fee of $3000 at closing plus one year's dues of approx $900.

More info on Lake Mohawk is available on my website.

Another option is to look for a club membership lot. You can buy a piece of land which you can not develop but will give you membership rights to the Country Club and Beaches.

You can join only if you are in the Lake Mohawk section of Byram.

If you purchase a home in the section of Lake Mohawk that is in the Township of Byram, you can participate in all the Lake Mohawk activities. If the house is not located in the Lake Mohawk reservation with deeded rights to lake membership, you can purchase a membership lot which runs approximately $8000-$10000. Hope this helps. Home prices in Sparta, NJ continue on their downward spiral in 2011-2012 with no relief in sight. Simply, increasing property tax rates is going to be a “Train Wreck” for Home Ownership in Sparta, NJ. I guess we are going to see home ownership rates drop even further for the Sparta residents.

If you are looking for a lake community, Byram has several lakes that you might want to look at. Byram is known for its lake communities.
